Great news for our international partners. Estonia will increase the Film Estonia cash rebate from 30% to 40%, strengthening the countryโs competitiveness in the international film production market.

Minister Heidy Purga has confirmed the final step of a long process: ๐ ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฆ ๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐จ๐ง๐ข๐ ๐ฆ๐จ๐ฏ๐๐ฌ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ฐ๐๐ซ๐ ๐ฐ๐ข๐ญ๐ก ๐ ๐๐% ๐๐๐ฌ๐ก ๐ซ๐๐๐๐ญ๐ ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ฆ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐๐ฎ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง. Regulations still need to be updated โ and then, letโs roll!โ stated Edith Sepp, head of the Estonian Film Institute.
Launched in 2016 and managed by the Estonian Film Institute, the Film Estonia cash rebate programme aims to attract international productions, boost audiovisual exports and generate economic impact across multiple sectors.
According to Estoniaโs Minister of Culture Heidy Purga, the initiative has already proven its value:
โFilm Estonia has demonstrated a strong positive economic impact, creating jobs not only in the film sector but across many industries. Together with the new film studios currently being built in Jรตhvi and Tallinn, this marks an important step forward for the development of the industry.โ
Estonia is ready to strengthen its position as a filming destination. The increase in the Film Estonia cash rebate from 30% to 40% will take effect in about a month.
