Last weekend, the most prestigious film awards in Finland, the Jussi Awards, were presented, celebrating outstanding achievements in filmmaking. We are delighted to see several productions supported by Film Estonia among this year’s winners.
Film Estonia-supported projects were awarded in the following categories:
- Best Cinematography – Max Smeds for Orenda
- Best Costume Design – Eugen Tamberg for Never Alone (Ei koskaan yksin)
- Best Makeup Design – Salla Yli-Luopa for Sisu 2
- Best Visual Effects – Jussi Lehtiniemi for Sisu 2
In addition, Sisu 2, received further recognition as director Jalmari Helander was honored with the newly introduced International Breakthrough award.
Orenda, with costume design by Estonian Jaanus Vahtra, was also nominated for Best Costume Design category.
